Designed by the great Armenian architect Mark Grigorian in the finest local traditions, the recently refurbished Armenia Marriott takes pride of place on Republic Square in Yerevan. In Soviet times, this was – togehter with the Grand Hotel Europe in St Petersburg (then Leningrad) – considered one of the finest (Intourist) hotels in all of USSR.
