Dolder Grand

The Dolder Grand Hotel, on a hill above the city of Zurich, is one of the legendary hotels of Europe. It underwent a complete refurbishment and “re-thinking” and reopend in April 2008 as a ‘City Resort’ with 173 (2014: 176) rooms and suites. The renowned London architects Foster and Partners have combined the hotel’s historic main building of 1899 with modern architectural accoutrements.

The original “Curhaus” – by all means not as the centrally located as the legendary hotels near and around Bahnhofstrasse –  stands between the pulsating life of the city and a refreshingly natural green zone, with a magnificent view of the city of Zurich, the lake and the Alps.

Here Zurich’s fist golf course was opened in 1907. Over the past years quality management has slowly driven the grand old lady back to where it once stood, today guest comments are extremely positive and it seems that the Dolder is back on track.
