Brasserie Reflet is the timeless restaurant from the Belle Epoque serving mediterranean cuisine. Both are listed as National Monuments. In The Lounge you can overlook Dam Square with the Royal Palace while drinking coffee or enjoying high tea. The Japanese restaurants Edo en Kyo present you the traditional Japanese Cuisine. In de Golden Palm Bar guests can enjoy a drink or do business in a comfortable way. A real dining adventure is Shibli Restaurant, where you experience Middle-Eastern hospitality.
Mr. Wilhelm Adolph Krasnapolsky, tailor of German origin, started with a coffe house, continiously adding more features to it. Billiard, etc. He incorporated a neighbouring building. In 1879/1880 he commissioned architect A. Salm to build a majestic cast iron and glass Winter Garden. - Krasnapolsky later built its counterpart in London-.In 1883, the year Amsterdam held its Great Exhibition- Weltausstellung-he built an ultra-modern hotel block.Its rooms had the benefit of electric light-one of the first in the country to do so. The hotel was designed by FG Ebert and JF Henkenhaf, who were later to build the famous Kurhaus-Spa- on the coast at Scheveningen.In the twenties the garden was adapted for dancing Grand Dame of Amsterdam - Village on the Dam, James Joyce, WWII-Canadian troops Club, VIP LIST
