kai speth - famoushotelsKai Speth, General Manager of Hotel Metropole Hanoi is a luxury hospitality industry veteran with more than 27 years of experience. His education, experience and expertise run on several tracks: hotels (from ski/beach resorts to large airport and city business/convention hotels) and restaurants throughout Europe, the United States and Asia.

He began his professional career in the hospitality industry in September 1981. During his early career, he held a variety of Chef positions, managed Food & Beverage outlets in a range of Hotels and assisted in the pre-opening and opening of two new hotels in New York City (The Hotel Millenium and The Four Seasons New York).

Immediately prior to joining the Sofitel Luxury Hotels Group, Speth spent more than twelve years with the Hyatt International Corporation, working in a number of senior positions, and quickly rose to the rank of General Manager. With Hyatt he worked in both Asia and the USA in prestigious properties such as: Grand Hyatt Seoul, Hyatt Regency Incheon, Park Hyatt Los Angeles, Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa, Grand Hyatt Taipei, and Grand Hyatt Bali.  

Kai Speth took up his new role as General Manager of the historic Hotel Metropole Hanoi in September 2008. As part of the Metropole's new management team, he is determined to do his utmost both to maintain the traditions of the past century and also to promote creative innovation, as the Hotel develops new facilities and opens exciting, new outlets.

In his free time, Speth enjoys a round of golf, indulging his passion for the latest computer technology or spending quality time with his wife and two children.

He holds a Hotel Business and Administration degree from the prestigious Hotel Management School in Heidelberg, Germany.
