The Stand in Yangon (former Rangoon) in Myanmar (former Burma) ranks among the finest boutique hotels in the world (considering the fact that it is situated in a politicl environment that doesn't neccessarily inspire luxury travel and exclusive hotels). The hotel stands at the shores of the Irawadi River.

We have been searching for historical material about this hotel for the past years. The highlight of an auction this year was the appearance of the presumably oldest postcard of the hotel, as shown above.
